Rain Down In KZN

Nice...We are pretty far away from the tower, so we have to use the poynting. We are barely in coverage. Note that our speeds are consistently that high when the antenna is positioned in that location. :)
I am very close the tower. I wonder if i get the poynting if speeds will get better

Yeah it most likely would, if you use an Xpol-6, it's a high gain, narrow type of beam, so you can position it pointing exactly at the tower, the more line of sight the better. That obviously will make your SiNR and RSRQ better, and thus give a better quality signal and speed.

Yes. It was reasonable for the time that there was load shedding but back to sub 1Mbps again now.
Also, the rain website does not load after hours due to bad config data.
So cannot even manage your account.
If you want to increase your spend limit, you need to use another service provider.

We still getting the same 55-65mbps in Durban. (Glenwood)

If you're still having much slower than normal speeds you should reset your device. We factory reset ours when it throws lower speeds and normally recovers within 5 minutes of the reset.

So I emailed about the extremely slow connectivity and frequent netwrok drops since the KZN debacle started.
Got a response telling me how to sign up for a rain sim.
So now they do not even bother reading emails.
Cut and paste is on how to become a customer?

Yesterday morning I was in Springfield and got absolutely no signal, I would reboot my phone then it picked up a 4G connection for a couple seconds and go dead again.

Yes, its pretty much the story all over Durban in areas that are in the coverage zone.
They have not fully restored services and doubt that they ever will with the apathetic attitude.

Okay I'm going to say this one more time, Rain in durban is not down. Your areas within Durban are down or you have bad equipment or don't know how to position it correctly. How is rain in Durban down when right now I have 60mbps?

I'm on the KZN south coast.. it's rarely down - although yesterday morning (2am to 6am) it went down for a few hours - red light on router - first time ever.

However, I do think our tower, which only supports 1800ghz is extremely congested, which overall makes the service kind of inconsistent.

are you sure you guys only have one tower? we have multiple, had to pinpoint the 2600 one with the antenna, it's far away

Yeap. I live the wrong side of the hill. I have a tower about 300 metres away from me (so I have full signal all the time) and then there's no towers for another 3km.
