It seems like everybody is getting to experiment with 5G except Durban that is. We heard that they wanted to roll out in 2020 for Durban but seems like that is going to be 2021 or 2022.

I have been checking but haven't seen any life of the rain 5G band in Durban.

5G, FTTH.... all of them

Personally working on a fibre project and it just seems that many of the areas have problems. Where it be government wayleaves or just that the place is 100% concrete and no FNO wants to really try it (Glenwood as an example).

I dont get why Openserve does not try harder... they already have all the telkom infrastructure and routes...

My apologies @ghostRgg with the recent change on the network from NSA to SA the rollout has slowed down but we are still rolling out. I cannot confirm a date as yet for when we will be in Durban :( but we will be there.

Maybe sort out the 4G network in Durban with sufficient capacity for your current customers first..........

This speedtest is what I am currently having to put up with. Been like this since beginning of March 2020. I have opened 5 tickets with Rain and nobody has come back to me with a proper reason for this performance. Everytime its the same thing....." switch your router off and then on and then see if it improves" or "move your router closer to the window".....

I am 200m away from the closest Rain tower.

Could you post your signal stats and such, also what router are you using?

Well, as long as it's still in the works I guess I can accept it. Would kill to do some testing and such since we currently use all of the rain packages and try to push the limits this side. Hopefully, you guys are ready for small releases in Durban by December/Jan :)

Ya, I get the similar rubbish speeds, also only 300m away from my closest tower. After weeks of back & forth run around (trust me its days between replies) Rain admitted the tower is congested and over committed...
