Rain issue again... 5th time this year

@rain_mobile @rain_networks I'm on Rain 5G premium. Why do i keep getting 999 ping, 30mbps download and 0.5 upload speeds? What exactly am i paying for? I'm away most of the time for work but when i get home this is the speeds I'm getting. So is this the speeds this slow the whole time?

What about older people who do not have the knowledge to check their speeds and know what they are getting for the price they are paying?

@rain_mobile @rain_networks how long has the speeds been this low for? And I've been paying R999 for 1 year now so was i on the standard package this whole time? Then i would like a refund.

As always, i am in coverage. With 2 towers 0.5 kms from me with a clear view from ky house. The router is mounted outside on the top of the roof.

So this is it now... @rain_mobile @rain_networks i will be home until wednesday. I will be doing a speed test EVERY hour and taking screenshots throughout the day. If by Wednesday i don't get what I'm paying for, i will give my cancellation in your PM and on this forum, and you can come fetch your #@$ router within this week.

Will update the thread with my speed tests.

19:01 - 31mbps down, 0.6 up, 388ping
20:07 - 28mbps down, 0.5 up, 619ping
 
20:48 - 32mbps down, 0.5 up, 823 ping. This if after a router reset. 192.168.8.1 is showing i have full bar 5G connection
 
21:34 - 55mbps download, 0.56mbps up 400 ms ping.

I'm now thinking about printing out all the speed tests, reverse ALL payments and dropping off the router at my nearest police station. This is unacceptable. I feel scammed

You are not legally obligate to use the service, nor are you to continue using it.

It is shite though, better than my 1Mbps everywhere.

Yes better than our 1 megabyte ... be grateful or move on ... we have mentioned that rain isn’t just a plug and play ... so get on the roof and do your thing bro

That's perfectly fair if you do not take into account what we used to get.

Metrofibre has been busy installing gibre in our area for almost 2 years now. So wish they would finish up already so can get rid of rain. My speed tests tonight at 18:49 - 32mbps down, 0.7 up and 340 ping. @#$@

That is very reasonably though, could browse and stream easily, I can barely load this page by itself in less than 30seconds, if it has any pictures in it I can just forget it.

I'm currently watching netflix on the lowest quality and it keeps buffering. Can't believe they make a **** ton of money out of us
 
Just be happy that you have some kind of service.
I have less than one bar, since their closest tower to me broke after a power outage.
No ETA on when they will fix it, only that they are aware of the issue.

speeds low? live with it, Im on the unlimited 4G R250 deal, and sometimes it works and sometimes its hilariously slow.
I just live with it, as its pointless complaining, nobody listens.

That's why they have such **** customer service because people are just living with it. I pay R999 a month for crap service
