Rain LTE-A, can't register on network

I received my Huawei B618 Router and sim card from Afrihost yesterday. When I first plugged it in and saw a red light I didn't think much of it as I knew it might take some time to be RICA'd. However this problem still persists. I have spoken to Afrihost and got the usual, "Reset your router" which didn't work. When I manually scan for networks I can see the two 4G Rain networks among other but when I try and connect it fails to register to the network. I have tested the router with a Telkom sim card and it works perfectly. I'm starting to think the SIM card is faulty. Does anyone know if there is something I can do to resolve this?
 
As per afrihost it can take up to 48hours to activate, but usually doen't take that long

PM one of their reps on the afrihost form, to check and advise
 
I'm having exact same problem afrihost tells me they sent my problem to IS and will get back to me it's 6 days now..
I tested a cellc sim in router and had immediate connectivity
 
Yes they said to me the problem had been escalated to IS as well and I have phone them every day since and I get the same answer. Last guy says hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow but I doubt it. First time bad experience.
 
They don't make it that easy. Since the double data promotion has ended. The only way to keep the promotion is to go through a whole long process of them blaming you for the problem etc before they eventually agree to replace your current sim card. This is what I had to go through. They finally agreed yesterday to replace my sim card.
