So I'm trying to login into my router using the "public" IP provided in the router settings. Does not work.
Whatsmyip displays a different "public" IP. So its seems that rain is double NAT or CGNAT.

How can I access my router globally? I have a server behind the router that I want to access.

Port forwarding doesn't work on RAIN for the reasons you mentioned in your post

Some guys here have had luck with VPS to get around it

Hi Pieter

O nice. I see now.
I actually wanted to use a local Blynk server. But using a VPS would work aswell.
Thank you

Zerotier works well. I have it running on a Raspberry Pi. I use it to check my cameras remotely.

Rain. Hence the need for zerotier since we don't get a public IP.
This is great, I almost got a cloud based VPS for around R100 a month. But the information you gave me is perfect.
Will install zerotier once I get my new sd card for the raspberry.
Thanks a million

I got my blynk server on my PI and the app talking on my lan. I have zerotier installed and running on the PI and my android phone. Both authorized in zerotier panel. Problem now comes with routing. I use my android 3G data. So how do I route to the PI?

I followed the article I posted above exactly, and it worked. Have you routed the Zerotier subnet to your LAN subnet in the Zerotier config? I suggest using static IPs for both the Pi and your phone. See my routing config here. My LAN is 10.0.0.x, Zerotier is on 10.0.1.x. Pi is 10.0.0.8 on LAN, 10.0.1.8 on ZT, and phone uses 10.0.1.1 on ZT.Screenshot_20200905_214050.jpg

I should have left the routing as is.
It's working fantastic. Managed routes is set to easy. I used the raspberry IP assigned by zerotier to connect my blynk app to the PI. Now I have global control over my arduino IoT.

I have read alot about port forward and the dangers. I cant believe i can finally see my arduino any where in the world, plus I still have space for 98 other devices.
I have another arduino running modbus on my lan. If I can get to that arduino through hmidroid using my tablet and zerotier. Well, I dont have words for that :)

:DEnable IP forwarding and iptables on raspberry. Setup managed route to Modbus Arduino through raspberry pi IP now serving as a gateway and YESSSSssss, hmidroid works globally.
Finally, Full home IoT in the near future. :D I can see my camera PC aswell.

Its great. Basically your own free VPN.

Hey @Pieter_Badprop are you still using ZeroTier on Rain? Is it still working? My ZT routing stopped working recently and I can't figure out if it was the ZT update (it updated to v1.6.2) or if Rain changed something. I've tried everything, even deleted the ZT network, created a new one and joined, config as per my previous post. Cannot see my LAN devices, or even the public IP of the ZT "router" device...

Hey Pieter, I used remote.it to access my server behind the Rain router via my raspberry.

Hi @pewpewi, is yours still working on ZT 1.6.2? Mine stopped working after the update. None of rhe ZT IPs can even ping each other...

My sincere apology's for this freaken late reply. I dont seem to be getting email notifications from this post.

Yes, my zerotier did stop responding around the same time frame. It would show online but I could never connect to remote devices. So I deleted the network and created a new one with same routing as first one. After that everything started working again. I am still using zerotier and Rain network.
I am currently at work and keeping an eye on my home through my tablet and zerotier.
