Rain mobile set up?

How do I set up rain to only use off peak data? My peak data limit is zero but I can access the internet while being charged for it.

When did you add the unlimited data? IF you activated your unlimited data add on in the middle of this month and have your spend limit set to R250 which is the minimum when you have the unlimited addon active it will have some peak usage because the unlimited option is pro rata billing from the date activated to the end of the month.

Once you have the unlimited add on from the 1st of the month and the spend limit set to R250 then peak data will be capped.

The sim was activated this morning with the off peak data enabled and the gig limit set to 0. The is a pro rata amount of R83 due 1st December.

Yes so this means it will allow peak usage for a total of R250 - R83 = R167. Unfortunately I don't think there is a fix for this. Rain went with a Spend limit instead of a peak and offpeak limit. Right now because you have the unlimited add on for R250 the system automatically limits data at R250. Since you have a pro rata unlimited add on of R83 this means the system is going to allow peak data and only cut if your bill reaches R250. So I would limit peak usage for now until the first of next month where you will be capped peak time from day 1.

Well off peak is currently enabled so 11pm to 6pm you are not getting charged it's just that from 6pm to 11pm at night you pay for what you use at R50 per gig so just don't use data on the simcard between 6pm and 11pm and you won't pay extra. From the 1st of December if the clock hits 6pm you get capped and be redirected to Rain's spend limit reached website.

Okay got it. I'll just not use it during peak hours and only use my unlimited data(11pm - 6pm)to avoid paying more than the R250(off peak)

SO if you want to go crazy this month and use as much data during 6pm and 11pm the WORST you will pay the 1st of December is R250. From 1st Of Jan unless you change the spend limit or switch the uncapped off it will always be R250.

So come first of December you can try using the internet after 6pm you will see it blocks it.
