RAIN network down in Pretoria

This was restored in about an hour and a half. It seemed to be the local tower in my immediate area going off line. My router picked up a distant tower eventually, but the connection sucked. All was back online soon after Afrihost came back to me and asked if my speed was back to normal, might have helped to have asked them what was wrong. Signal seems even stronger than before.

Well RAIN is going up and down in the Sinoville, Annlin area in Pretoria like a ping pong ball. B618 gets a red LED and informs that there is no service. Reboot fixes it for a minute or two, sometimes longer - then it all happens again. Really frustrating and not cool at all. Was fine for a month until now.:(

Well, 12 hours later and the status quo remains. RAIN LTE still disconnecting with "no service" and generally being quite crap. My Telkom prepaid LTE has strangely not exhibited such issues, uhm ever really and I have had to switch over while RAIN hopefully does something about this. I guess I could complain to Afrihost about this, but it is probably pretty pointless. It seems RAIN was/is doing work. Maintenance, upgrades, who knows? But informing the users affected goes a long way to understanding the issues and smoothing the client/service provider relationship. Hmmm, the carrier ID was 65519, and has now reverted back to RAIN-RttH. Maybe this means normal service is resumed? Nope...still doing it.
