Deos rain optimization work or is it just there to show you tower you cannot connect too?
I got the Huawei B2338 outdoor cpe router and mounted it on my rood and aimed it at a different tower than the one im connected too but wont change towers tried moving it around the roof and also switch on and off but to no avail wont change cureent tower

I have the ssme CPE. It seems to be very selective. Out of the 5+ towers i have in a 2km radius, it connects only to one. It may be an elevation thing, as I am at a higher point than presumably most of them. The antennas on towers are aimed somewhat downwards to serve the area they cover.

I do manage to get a connection to a tower about 4km away at one angle but the signal sucks.

Are the other towers you aimed at lower in elevation than you?

Also have you turned on engineering mode on this CPE?

How do you turn on engineering mode? I only just got the router yesterday not even sure how to search network lol it just default settings im using

Curenrtly alll the towerss from me are of the same high when im on the roof

honestly OP, it works, leave it alone,
Rain does all kinds of Vodoo in the back-end, and it constantly fluctuates based on the time of day,
to the barometric pressure. and what site you tend to visit and the load on the tower nearby.

deosnt woro for me ive been aiming my router on top of my roof at other towers since 7am but wont chnage according to their website only connects to one tower from me....i just went out now to other towers with my pocket router and when im close to them like 4 meters away it changes towers

I had the same issue, just gave up... I was told to try aim at a different tower which was 180 degrees from the original, yet it continued to connect to the original...
