Saw the Rain R1 deal about two weeks back and thought I would give it a try just to test it in my area.
(Since my request to Rain sending a tech to come check for me did not happen)
Deal since now includes 3 months Black Friday speed boost...
(I did not get this since it was ordered a few days before this went live.)
So have 5G Standard (60Mbps) deal.
I can confirm that's what I get most of the time.
about 20%-30% of the time I see it goes down to like 30Mbps.
Doing a speedtest gets me an average of about 67Mbps.
(I can tell that there is a potential to get about 150Mbps or hight if I was on the premium package)
Signal strength is good at about 29db.
Received the new ZTE MC888 router.
The only difference seems to the ZTE MC801A seems to be that it does not have the option of adding an external booster.
...Is it worth it???
Currently only Rain 5G in my area.
But I've achieved
80Mbps on MTN on LTE before.
45Mbps on Telkom on LTE
30Mbps on Vodacom on LTE
What do you think?
...will update here if I get to do a test on the premium package. I'm just not very willing to spend R999 a month on it.
