Hi guys let's have a thread about the new Rain package.

How does this impact you if you are an existing user?

All new users are forced to buy a 5G package now?

You cannot buy a 5G package standalone you will get two 4G Sims (That you pay for). What if you don't want the 4G sims?

Rain why did you guys go down this road? Rain was a simple company. You buy a service for the ease of use. Now it's just a massive confusion and complication.

Why remove the 19hours uncapped 4G plan? I would believe many users loved that plan and bought it because they couldn't afford anything else.

Anyone else that would like to share comments?

I thought Rain is uncapped. Now topup’s? (I assume its speed related but not data)

I have been begging for a proper mobile phone solution from rain for ages. This is just dumb though.

I am a student, I do not need 5G or a second SIM, I need one sim card for my phone that I can make calls from, text from and use data on, Rain has no solution that suits my needs now. The coverage is fine, I never leave the city...

Let us look at another example.

A family living in a suburb with FTTH, If they want a mobile solution for their phones or ipads, Rain is useless to them.

This seems extremely dumb

Also R50/GB is extremely uncompetitive. My Telkom mobile 'Unlimited' plan gives me 15GB full speed data for R299 so R20/GB and the soft cap speed is perfectly useable, I average about 100GB a month on my phone with this plan so R3/GB.

"upgraded" to the 2 sim deal they offer alongside my 30Mbps 5g
Data works well, but I cannot make any phonecalls
Weird
@rain_networks / @rain_mobile any ideas
You must download an app called raintalk that replaces your stock dialer to make calls as the calls use data (like Whatsapp calling). They lied and are saying everywhere they support VoLTE but they don't.

Thats stupid

How's the speed test.
Excellent, always 30+ Mbps down and atleast in the 20's up.

Well VoLTE works sometimes for me... but it's constant on the raintalk app
