ram compatibility

Alright, so im getting the following board,

and i want to get 8GB of ram, now which would be better between the 2,

Also take note that mushkin is not on the compatible list in the asus compatibility section, therefore im worried if i get the 2 x 4GB sticks then it might not read.

Please advise.
 
Snail: is there any particular reason why you're getting such a high end motherboard and cheap memory?
Also, why do you need 8GB of memory?

My guess would be that the motherboard should be able to take the 2x 4GB modules from Mushkin.

@ pada: reason for the cheap ram and high end mobo is simple...Budget lol (i would rather spend my money on a decent mobo than on ram).

Just get 4GB's DDR1600 now & another 4GB's when you have some extra cash - 4GB's is fine to start with. ;)
 
Snail: if you're on a budget, then why don't you just go for a cheaper, yet decent motherboard, like the ASUS P7P55D-E LX @ R1430?
Do you want SLI/CrossFire or are you a serious overclocker? Only then that motherboard you chose would make sense...
 
snail: I would suggest that you post your complete PC setup + what you're going to use it for, before buying it. It's always a good idea to get 2nd opinions from the community :)

I've recently discovered that a friend of my brother actually spec'd a PC where the CPU & motherboard sockets mismatched... Luckily he didn't buy the components yet.
 
Have ordered the ram already, want to get the aforementioned asus board, want to get the i5 750, and hopefully get the radeon 5770.
 
If it's a gaming PC, then I would recommend that you fork out slightly more on the graphics card so that you at least get an AMD HD 6850/6870 or NVidia GTX 460 1GB for anything from R2k - R2.6k

Some places sell the i5 760 for basically the same price as the i5 750.

i5 760 is the way to go, definitely!

Ati Radeon 5830, for a few hundred bucks more, trumps that immensely - rather get a bit more cash together. ;)
