HelooZ! I am wanting to upgrade to 4 gigs of ram (4x1gig) i currently have 2 gigs 667mhz hyperX ram, if i get 800mhz ddr2 ram can i over clock the 667 ram to 800 mhz? If i can, HOW? Also will all the memory timing and stuff have to be the same on both sets for dual channel to work properly? See sig for pc details.

you could overclock 667 ram to maybe 700-720mhz, depends on the modules. Simple setting from the bios. you'd probably be running your new 800mhz sticks at the slower, now 667mhz speed (or your overclock speed of 700mhz)

Depends on your mobo. (I see your m2n-sli). I'm not sure how the clock multipliers work with AMDs, intels are straight forward, many only requiring 667mhz, and not benefiting much from a 800mhz ram.

thanks. These are hyperX chips so they might get to 800mhz as they have heatsinks. Anyone know how to overclock ram with an amd mobo?

Like the man said, putting 800mhz sticks in with 667 givez you 667 speeds. Rather ditch the 667 and get 800' only. Also, you do realize you need a 64bit OS to make use of 4Gb RAM?

Yes i know. How much of a difference will 667 be in comparison to 800 in games? Looking to upgrade to win7 ultimate 64bit.
