I Have DDR3 RAM and its showing as 580MHz. Is it not supposed to be 1033HMz?
Here is a picture

It's Dual-channel.

Your FSB runs on 1333MHz. Therefore the total of your RAM will run at 1333, which is why you only require 667MHz RAM * 2 (in dual channel).
Sandy Bridge runs on 1600, so my RAM runs on 800.

Get the idea?

Oh i get it, thanks for clearing that up

DDR is called double data rate so ram so mine runs at 800mhz so if I double it it's 800x2 = 1600Mhz

+1 to what Nelis said. His is technically correct, unlike what froot said ;)

DDR (including DDR 400, DDR2 800, DDR3 1600, etc.) are all "Double Data Rate" memory modules. CPU-z and most other system specification software would report the base memory speed (eg. 800MHz for DDR3 1600) or whatever you call it.

Dual/Triple/Quad channel is a completely different technology, which in essence can boost your memory throughput by up to 4 times if you're running it in quad channel. Realistically you'll never see 4x the real world performance...
This technology requires the user to install the RAM modules in very specific slots so that the PC can access the RAM modules in parallel.

robertwj:
could you perhaps post 2 screenshots from CPU-z? One of the first tab and another from the memory tab? Unless you have everything you need now :)
