Greetings all

Would I see a noticable improvement if I upgraded the RAM from 512 meg to 2 gig on an older laptop (HP 530...don't laugh please) running Vista?

Absolutely 512mb is not nearly enough memory for Vista, you would see greatly improved boot and shutdown time and you programs will load much faster

I have seen desktop PC's struggling to run vista with 1gb ram, so upgrading to 2gb should make a very noticeable difference indeed.

You will notice a big difference. My mate has the same laptop but with 1GB and I installed Win7 on it last week.

I seriously don't know how you could've managed with 512MB and Vista, because 1GB isn't even enough for someone who multi-tasks in XP.

It's definitely worth while to upgrade to 2GB!
