Ramaphosa declared properties - presidency

Moeletsi Mbeki explains the origin of the wealth nicely in his book, Architects of Poverty:

"The object of BEE was to co-opt leaders of the black resistance movement by literally buying them off with what looked like a transfer to them of massive assets at no cost."

Moeletsi Mbeki

The objective of BEE as conceived by conglomerates like Sanlam and Anglo American was not to restructure the economy, but to create a black elite buffer entrusted with protecting the interests of big business and to ensure that the status quo under which conglomerates operate stays firmly in place. Now the state has internalised this model and is trying to implement it

Seems to me Anglo American and Sanlam have always been at the corner stone of empowerment (Black and Afrikaner) ownership. It would make sense for these conglomerates to create an elite buffer to protect their business interests.

Not true, you just don't know about it.

Also check here for some of "his people" that he's helped.

So basically he put how much back?R200 million rand? That was from opportunity cost of the R6.8 billion he took from the average black oke living in the township back to them, maybe he felt some guilt after all and don't get me wrong he is not an idiot like our current president,he is an intellectual person with a great mind but still him benefiting from deals that were supposed to benefit the average previously disadvantaged oke on the street is wrong and for that reason I cant look up to him.

The fact of the matter is he took care of himself before his own people,R6.8 billion worth of it also.Small amounts(relatively) pumped back in mean nothing in the grand scheme of things,if he is honest he would spend all that money on developing black people because thats where that money should rightfully go.
