I saw an article stating Municipalities will be allowed to buy power from other suppliers who produce less than 1MW of power. This could open the door for Municipalities giving rates rebates to private citizens for installing grid tied solar powered systems.

Easy nice words in the SONA speech. But to get it all done ---- that is the problem ---- Watch the NGOs, Labour, Eskom, Provincial Councils, Metros and small municipalities generate a wall of BS reasons why they can't do it.

The only way to speed this up is that every single elected official and every single union boss above management level and every single eskom employee at management or higher level are the first to be shed and the last back on the grid. Shedding continues for 5 days? Guess what Gweezy, no power for you this whole week. Then to drive the point home, they are by law not allowed to have solar or generator capacity. Make them feel what we go through and watch how quickly this carp is resolved.
