Wot he really means is that like SAA and SAX, each one of these "entities" will require a "board" stuffed with ANC cadres who know little or nothing about the job at hand except how to write out orders for their Gupta like chums (and family members - Mr Koko), employ family members and generally have a good time.

why is south africa anti-renewable energy?

To be honest.. they know Eskom would be fcked.. job losses etc (and how many AA/BEE companies would be fkced?) . Look at Telkom (just worse). So they are forcing us to keep paying eskom.

"Ramaphosa said the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy will soon announce the successful bids for 2,000MW of emergency power to help curb load-shedding."

They have been promising this since loadshedding started. They most probably had to find time to get the ANC cadres involved to obviously get some kickbacks out of this.

It is not that South Africa is anti-renewable energy.
It is all about kickbacks for ANC cadres. If ANC cadres do not get kickbacks out of anything, they will delay the process until they do.

The same for the digital TV transformation. The reason for the delay is, they have to make sure that ANC cadres will get kickbacks out of it.

You're so funny Mr president. And how are you going to pay for all these miricles?? As jy kan lieg kan jy steel ook.

Their track record thus far has been abysmal, to say the least when it comes to 'EKSDOM' and their ability to even 'generate' a stable power unit and if there is money involved here, guess where their attention will be focused on?

During the Zuma cleptocracy he was heading the "task force" that was set up to sort Eishkom out. Did nothing then, has done nothing during his presidency and will do nothing in the future. What a tosser!

The only thing that really made any
why is south africa anti-renewable energy?
In SA, we're anti anything that is run properly, can't be made into a gravy train and have cadres riding it for the rest of their lives.

Anything that involves a plan being made by the ANC is not a plan to benefit the country; it's for the benefit of the ANC.

I don't think they entirely.. even if government tomorrow opened up the grid you would still need baseload which is coal or nuclear. just no way around that presently. If i recall the numbers a few years back.. we could push renewables and still sit with a big deficit due to baseload reducing with aging out process. Basically.. Sa needs 1-3 large projects and coal isnt really viable with environmental issues. Lack of power curtails GDP..

The bigger hold up is the mining sector if u ask me. The commodities boom is happening and unless SA fixes mining we will miss out again(see 2009/10) besides .. who knows how long the impasse between china and aus will last.

PS. I still think timezones will fix a lot of SA problems as it shifts consumption loads and on the productivity side will also have a positive impact.

Forever amen.

before i forget i actually came to say this..

“Eskom has been restructured into three separate entities for generation, transmission and distribution,” Ramaphosa said.

I'm almost completely certain this hasn't concluded.

They have thousands of surplus employees already. What jobs do they want to kak out now?
It’s just another grant system masquerading as employment to be funded by the state (read taxpayers and a bankrupted treasury) which adds nothing to real economic growth or GDP!
