It peaked in April 2020 at R19,11 just as the Covid pandemic/lockdowns were going into full swing.

The previous exchange low was caused by global markets in turmoil because of COVID, all the development countries currencies where taking a hit.

This time the problem lies with us, the world see us more and more as a country going down the sewer too risky for investments.
