I want to send a large amount of money to my SA bank account but see the Rand seems to be creeping up again...Should I wait it out or is the Rand making a comeback? I really should have sent it when the Rand was so weak before Brexit.
I dont know what to do now. The money will be significantly less if it keeps going up. Any financial forecasts?

My view is that the strengthening Rand is short term. I see it as an afterglow of the positive election results, and due to external forces (such as Brexit). Soon, the strikes and violent student protests are going to start up again. We are on the edge of a recession, and close to our investment grade status being reviewed.

However, that's all my own opinion and pretty pointless as I am not an economist, nor do I have any sort of qualification which makes me qualified to talk about this.

Maybe take a look at:

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/south-africa/currency/forecast

South African Rand Forecasts are projected using an autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model calibrated using our analysts expectations. We model the past behaviour of South African Rand using vast amounts of historical data and we adjust the coefficients of the econometric model by taking into account our analysts assessments and future expectations. The forecast for - South African Rand - was last predicted on Monday, August 15, 2016.

This is just manipulation. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE RAND IS REALLY STRONGER! Just temporary. There isn't more production, there isn't more manufacturing, there isn't more investment coming in, there isn't more produce exported. There isn't more gold /diamonds/platinum mined.

I think you need to calm down and go have a cup of coffee...

Effects/ripples of Brexit, is going to be around for a while... the worst is still to come for the Brits. The ZAR will continue to strengthen, thanks to our rather favourable interest rates, compared to whats out there. But our fundamentals are still looking ***.. - but we could have been in a far worst position.

Hmmm...Financial forecasters seem to think this is temporary but sometimes temporary takes a long time! Argh!

What you're forgetting is what took it to where it is in the short term. it wasn't predominantly the things you list. So while those things are going to affect it's long term stance, it's not necessarily going to weaken from where it now stands in the short term.
