Rand takes a big hit

The rand has taken a knock following the eruption of war between the United States/Israel and Iran, with trouble brewing for markets if the conflict escalates and expands.

War?

“Special operation.”

Don't understood how their kuk affects us.
Because the global currency is the dollar, pretty much everything is measured against it, a stronger dollar = or weaker rand or weaker dollar = stronger rand.

What is oil priced in ? It’s not priced in any other currencies besides the dollar.

Who leads the world in oil production and calls the shots ?

THE ORANGE MAN in the Oval Office baby!!!

That’s not how it works, especially with oil.

That region of the world supplies oil to other regions for processing. Now that the supply has been slowed if not to a snails pace then that means everyone else needs to go shopping for oil, who else do they go to ?

So everyone calls the US and asks if we can buy some of your reserves, sure why not ? But you gonna pay extra 50c/l on it. Boom the dollar resurges and smaller world economies like ours takes the brunt.
