Randburg SPCA animals have been moved to a safe place after fire break out outside the building.

According to the SPCA’s manager Craig Rudman, the fire started early in the morning, on 11 November,

“The fire department was called after fire broke out around 8.30am and spread to our charity storage container. At the moment firefighters and staff are trying their best to open the containers, as that is where the gas cylinders are kept,” said Rudman.

Joburg Emergency Services are on scene.

More details to follow soon.

Reading through that mess of a filed report, I'm getting that the container(s) outside the premises were/are being threatened by the fire.

Thank the gods the animals are safe, for now.

I'm also thinking that there's a patch of roadside grass where car repairs are effected on an illegal, ongoing basis: I wonder if that open-air chop-shop had anything to do with it?
