I've noticed it happening more and more recently, even when I have plenty battery power, not in low power mode and on Wifi. I'll try view images I took earlier in the day on the desktop and they still will not have sync'd yet, super annoying because then I have to open up my phone, force sync Photos and then wait again for iCloud to sync them.

From Googling the issue it seems some update on Apples side around 6 months ago started causing this.

Probaly the image scanners screening all the porn pics out pre-upload.

How old is your battery?

If you have a look it sometimes gives a reason right at the bottom of Photos like phone being too hot etc.

No it’s not related to the normal reasons, people with near new flagship iPhones and Macbooks are experiencing it for no apparent reason.

So I just had this taking and editing a screenshot on my iPad Pro and then wanting to send it on WhatsApp on my phone…because you know a decade later they still don’t have an iPad app.

Anyway I discovered it paused saying “Optimizing System Performance” which smells like end user wording for re-indexing spotlight database.

Just use Whatsapp and send it to yourself?

Read properly then you will understand fully.

Stop trying to appear clever, by being stupid.

WhatsApp quality is also **** and drops all your EXIF data.

If you really wanted to do this you’d use Airdrop.

I've noticed that message recently too. A few days ago I had an issue with my iPad calendar not syncing with the app on iPhone.

Working for me, but I remember having it a while back on an old phone. It went away on its own

I assume you don’t have any specific DNS set just defaults?

Is it set to only sync on WiFi or on mobile too? I sync on mobile too in case my phone got stolen right after taking pics I don’t want to lose them so I want them shipped off asap to iCloud.

Also make sure you didn’t set a network or mobile connection to low data mode on another device as it will apply it on all devices.

Spotlight re-indexing often happens after updates but I don’t recall that happening on my iPad recently.

Why would I want to go through that hassle when I already have a dedicated Photos syncing service on my device. In any case it would be less hassle just force syncing iCloud but something is not working as it should with iCloud.

Possibly their servers/network is taking strain so they are offloading users as needed, there are now near 1.5 billion iPhone users globally, that's a ginormous amount of traffic to manage.
