Random modal popup ads

My daughter has installed a few apps recently and I'm guessing that one of them is responsible for a modal pop-up ad that just appears randomly while you're using it. It's not in an app window, it appears on the desktop. The process appears to be 'Android'. Mostly local ads - Heineken, etc.

We'll uninstall them and see which it is - hopefully the ad crap doesn't stay behind. Anyone else experienced this? Is this new normal behaviour on Android, or do you think one of the new apps is responsible?

Uninstall all apps you don't use. The Android app store is for the most part a disaster.

I had that last week. It was a icon app for me. Very frustrating. Its a process of elimination... Good luck

Thanks both, I'll post again once we've found the culprit. @Slootvreter - exactly, these apps should not be allowed in the app store. Have you seen the rigged voting systems?

Basically sweat shops with companies collecting $$ to rig voting on your app and provide fake reviews.

Yes, seriously, some of the reviews says Best App Ever, commenting on an app that supposedly increases speed of your wifi conneciton, but does nothing but show ads.
