So my roof is open rafter roof build in the 70s, so it means we don't have a ceiling(Tiles 80mm gap and ceiling board) Which means in summer my home\abode\palace\fortress of marital bliss gets fckn hot. During this current heat wave I have noticed a definite difference in heat between the section of my house that the panels are over and the section that isn't covered by panels. Seems to be 3 deg difference at least.

I would also expect it to be lower as most of that heat is now getting absorbed by the panels with very little way for it to transfer into the roof structure.

you mean something like this and no ceiling board at all ? Got confused when you said no ceiling and then mentioned ceiling board

My fortress of marital bliss gets hot sometimes, but mostly when the wife is annoyed with me, and steaming

Have a few brandies and coke and then slap them on the bum and tell them they are next it seems that fix such situations.
