ive been an iburst subscriber for over 2yrs but since ive installed windows vista ive been experiencing random disconnections. I dont know whether it has anything to do with vista. Oh yes, im in cape town and ive passed my 3.5gig cap already.

Are you connecting through a router or straight ethernet/usb?

It could be network drivers with Vista, especially wireless.

Hi Michael, I'm actually back on XP now, but Vista drivers for my wireless card were a bit of a hassle. Just needed the chip-makers (realtek etc.) drivers, as the actual companies don't update them fast enough.

Myles: I'm also on direct Ethernet atm though, as my router won't connect for some reason. The Ethernet connection seems to die every 10-60 minutes and you have to restart before it becomes active again, not sure if this is the same problem you face though.

You should update your network drivers if you can, there's most likely a Vista version out.

sometimes i have to unplug and then replug the power - kind of "cold boot" the iburst terminal.

i've installed new vista lan drivers which seems to have made a positive difference. Its in the roof cos of beter reception.

hmmm. even installing the new lan drivers havent made a difference. it made a difference only for the first time i connected after installing it.

it seems as though the iburst terminal freezes at times and i get dc at other times.
