Hi fellow forumites,

As per the title how long range (without an extender/booster) would one be able to stream video (anything from 480p to 1080p would suffice).

The setup is a server holding the data, going out via VGA to a 16-Port RJ45 Converter.
From there it goes to 10 TV displays via RJ45 to VGA Converters.

We are looking at a setup of a radius of 60m from the server.
Adding extenders or going the route of blackbox Ethernet converters becomes a costly operation.

Input and feedback would be appreciated.

the max length of a segment cable for RJ45 is 100m before you need to add extenders

The maximum range for data being transmitted over ethernet cable is 100m, if however you are using the cable for HDMI extenders it depends on the units being used, but as a general rule of thumb, AcidRaZor is 100% correct

The HDMI converters can go up to 30 - 50m over CAT5/6, the VGA converters might be able to go further without losing any quality... the people that sell the converters should be able to tell you the max distance over RJ45...
