Feel for you. I've been living here for over 10 years, and have never been able to get a stable reliable ADSL connection. Telkom did contact me a week ago, and admitted that the main problem is that I am 9kms from the nearest exchange, and this is one of the major causes. (jeez, it not like I live in Poffadded!) The guy mentioned he would see if it's possible to install a mini DSALM in the area, but even though he was a Telkom employee, he said I should not hold my breath. (I appreciated his honesty, but I must say this is one of hundreds of solutions I have heard over the years)
Any way, I have given up as there is no solution possible. I've reverted back to I-Burst, slow but stable. No gaming or live streaming possible, but at least I can surf and bank
