**RANT** Telkom is "amazing"!

Telkom rants are probably as common as grass, but here you go..

Telkom installed a line at my place after a looong wait... I phone the adsl deks and ask for an adsl package... I get home and normal voice line doesn't work (not even dialling tone).

So, phone to lodge fault. After receiving a few SMS' from Telkom (technician dispatched, problem resolved) and two faults logged later line is still off...

When told by fault dept it is the installations dept that must fix it, by installations dept that adsl dept must fix it and adsl dept that I must log a fault, I laid a complaint at the complaints desk.

Two weeks later some techies come to my place and fix the line. Yay! I plug in my router and my voice line is down. Adsl works though...

Log fault and today, one week later, techie arrives. He fixes the voice line but now ADSL down. Techie says: no adsl possible on the line... After I've been happily browsing mybroadband.co.za for more than a week?!!!!?!

Sooooo... off to log a new fault at the adsl desk... Maybe by 2010 I'll have a proper working service? (Seems everything is given in relation to 2010, so I'll just jump on the bandwagon as well)...

Pfffffttt....

Its amazing how people who know so little can tell you something like that lol.

What a joke...
 
Ouch, that reminds of the the me when they cut 2 of lines at work instead of installing the 6th line. What a Zim bargain, 1 for the price of 2

Unfortunately we need the lines as they are, or we'd have to shut down. Cant use VoIP for atleast 3 of them. Would be awesome if we could though
 
Heh... that's why I suggested my work not to go for the self-install route - so that the techie'll have to sit and sort it out...

Don't want to run around in circles, screaming and shouting...
 
I just got an sms that the service has been restored. Who's taking any bets that something will be busted when I get home tonight?

And bookies around? I'm sure I can make a quick buck here if somebody is willing to take my bet ;)
 
well, it doesn't take a genius to guess that my adsl is back up but my voice connection is now down....

here we go again!
 
I decided to go for the all-in-one Cybersmart package. Got my router yesterday. Get it plugged in... (can go onto Telkom site) but cant do internet type stuff...

Guy from Cybersmart phones me up, says he can see me on the Network, but port failure message. Telkom screwed up the installation. They logged a fault for me, now have to wait till they fix it.

How can they have to fix it? It has never been working!!!
