Ive been downloading with rapidshare accounts for over 2 years now, but last week I tried downloading and was told that my limit has been reached - now I can download 50 gig in 5 days. Now I checked the log files and saw that someone with an ip 198.54.202.3 has been downloading constantly and even topping 42gig in one day. I tried doing a trace on it and seems like its some guy in Jhb area - now my question is, how does this happen? How does someone hack my account?

Take your log files, (it should have date and time of originating IP) and report it to TelkomSA or IS (or the provider you are with).

Tell them about the bandwidth theft, and change your password for Rapidshare. Make sure you let the administrators of Rapidshare know what happened (forward correspondence between you and ISP, if need be).

Hope you come right.

:)

Close the account, make a new one. RS is cheap. If you can afford uncapped internet,
you can afford Euro 9 pm for a new RS account.
