Rapidshare DL manager

I use both FreeDownloadManager and flashget. Both work very well for me.

Whenever I try to use RapidShare it tells me my IP is already downloading something - which it definitely isn't. Will one of those programs overcome this?

No. I have the same problem. Especially with rapidshare.

that happens (the IP story) because of the SAIX proxy. and because you don't have a paid account.

with freedownloadmanager you can highlight the list of urls in your browser then COPY and use the IMPORT option under the file menu: select import list of urls.
the ip already in use issue is because you are connecting from behind your isp's transparent proxy, so the rapidshare server detects your connection as well as everyone else connecting through your isp as coming from the same ip. you can overcome this by purchasing a premium account

And then you have what IS is doing to downloads now.

Refresh (dynamic_bypass_reload)

Click here if you are not automatically redirected.

If that happens and you're using a download manager you get a 610 byte file.

Very interesting. Are you sure that is coming from IS, as it seems to be a Rapidshare-only phenomenon, and throws most download managers including ReGet? Thankfully I managed to fudge one of my own download programs to get around it. It is EXACTLY like a normal redirect, with a 200 status not a 30* one.

I manage to download from similar sites at least. I downloaded some things from Megashares, which worked fine, but for now I'll have to use torrents still. I'm not forking for an account though.

I get this thing too, when I am using my IS ADSL account without premium account. I don't use download managers and you just wait for 2 seconds and the save as windows will appear.

I have a premium account and I still get that, I've seen it regularly this month just browsing.

rapidshare does allow the use of download managers with premium accounts.

with freedownloadmanager you can enter your rapidshare account username and password in the actual download's properties and it takes care of the rest. it evens auto follows the redirect url for links ending with .html instead of .zip/.rar etc

i don't know if it works with other dl managers, but try fdm, and if that method does not work then it's most probably a config issue with your isp's squid (proxy)

In my experience Free Download Manager makes a complete mess of Rapidshare downloads. You must just be lucky.

I have been using rapidshare paid services for almost 5yrs now and downloads using internet download manager. I never had a problem up to date with IDM.

please elaborate peter . . .

I tried it ( as one of several ) when RS started this status 200 refresh thing, and it failed completely to follow the refresh. It *might* have been failing to follow the redirects ( 30* status ) too for all I know, but it completely failed to download the files.

As I said, I've got my own program working now after a few fiddles, so life is OK.
:)
