RapidShare Issues

Don't u just love RS, almost EVERY forum is using them ;))) I can just about find anything i want...

It's such a pity we only have 3.5GB of bandwidth till we get capped...

Thats why you need to team up with a few friends who are not on iBurst and do not have capped limits, then you could make full use of your RS account.:D

(Thread concerning download issues with iburst and RS links)

 looks like it's time to teach you mountain people something, maybe the Goutenga'lengers to  did I say that.

You might want to give this abash...... ;)

If you are using IE7, try setting the security permissions lower. It ait a problem with iburst

Navigate to tools, internet options, security (Tab).

Click custom level and set all your ActiveX controls to enable (only for the time being) apply click yes and proceed with the RS download. Reset afterwards

I had the same issue but I know a thing or four

Not using IE7 or any IE for that matter, besides the security problem is not from my side it is from the RS side.

PS: there are no mountain people here unless you are talking about yourself.

Well... I do stay on a mountain but far away from THE mountain :) was only taking a stab at the earlier post :)

Used Firefox alongside IE 7 and had the same problem on both with the download, modified the security on IE and Walla, knew to try this as the issue accurse with the AV that we sell.

I don't have any problems with downloading from RS or anywhere else, as far as I remember DaEvAnAm and Basjohn were having problems with RS. (check the first 2 posts in this thread.)

So... why did you post/reply

(Not using IE7 or any IE for that matter, besides the security problem is not from my side it is from the RS side)

This was to help with the download problem

Men  Hedonistic in everything they try do .

Enough of that :D

Do you use iBurst???????????????? want to increase your download speed ;)

the problem is the access code. i can't get past that.
each time it tells me it's wrong, i click back and try again.

I cant imagine this has anything to do with my browser. (firefox)

I have this issue with MegaUpload.

I wish people would use KeepFile more, as it doesn't have any of these
issues.

ZShare is amazing too; only one click to a 20 second wait, no access code, multi threaded with any download manager and you can pause/resume. :D

Why does everyone still use Rapidshare and Megaupload? :(

Because they have just about everything download wise and works well if you have a premium account.:D

No, he asked why people upload stuff there. A place like Keepmyfile
has no upload/download limits, a 5 second wait and no captcha.
Its paid for by 8 small banners at the bottom which are really tiny
(look homemade too).

f1l3.com has NO WAIT at all, allows resumes and 2 threads. In fact
doesn't even run ads or offer a purchase option.

No daily / hourly download limitations
Resumable downloads with download accelerators support
We do not block users by country or ip
No waiting for a download to start
Our users don't have to install anything to download files

Depositfiles.com is another one but its a bitch because has a long wait.

@PeterCH, I'll stick with RS the same as many thousands of other satisfied customers do, and as for why people upload it there is because it is a reliable system which has proved itself over the years.

For all the "cheap" people who want things for free they are welcome to use the fly-by-night freebee sites, in other words don't complain about the free side of a paysite if you want things for free.

Select "Level 3" as your server and it should download. All other servers will tell you that your access code is wrong. Or, get yourself a Premium Account. It's like R90 these days and compared to the amount of goodies you can get, it's a fair package. :)

But all you're downloading is stuff that you want "free" too surely? Why not get everything free, especially if it is possible with some small advertising.

@EHV, we could go round and round in circles over this subject, the bottom line is that many people choose to use a premium account with RS as it's a good popular reliable service, I personally have been using it for years and only use the "freebee" download sites if the goodies I want has not been uploaded to RS.

Admittedly if you don't have a premium account using RS is a pain in the neck, and to think for just a few bucks per month that pain would go away.
No way will I sit waiting at crawling speeds on torrents when I can get just about anything I need or want though RS at full speed.

I agree with MrH! There is nothing better than an RS Premium account. Not up/down ratios like torrents, pure fast HTTP downloads. Besides, i split the account between 3 friends so it comes out dirt cheap. If only i had more bandwidth.... ;) my mate on adsl, downloads at full 400+kbps on RS Premium with resumes. So i dont know what the big deal is about spending a couple of bucks a month on an premium account...

I can bet you now that over 90% of the forums/blogs that I use, use rapidshare.com files. Now why wouldn't I want to use RS?
