Hi guys

Anyone having issues with rapidshare right now?

Got the uncapped last nite, been working ok.. but rapidshare not responding at all...

Anyone got similar issues?

yeah, saw that... but at least the guy was getting 40kb through... me = 0... whole website has stopped responding.. when I connect on my 3G (MTN or Vodacom)... both work fine, back to mweb, not responding again

I'm so glad I'm not the only person that is complaining about this! yes Rapidshare is being 'throttled' by Mweb, I'm sure about this! What other explaination is there?? That's a rip-off of note! Mweb should come clean on this. As soon as I change to another ISP my speeds are what they should be.

Can someone make mweb a sign.

DURING THE DAY WE SHAPE PIRATE NETWORKS :D

Another one post wonder :D mole /insert austin powers snippet.

Not only day but all the time! I use other file sharing hosts like Hotfile and Megashare and they're fine. It's just Rapidshare. And Rapidshare is a legit business, although many files might not. I've used it many a time to send my own videos to clients who are too far to come to my studio. If they want to do this then warn the public.

It's in the MWeb Q&A topic, what more do you want?

Yeah and not only there.... The Uncapped Feedback thread and pretty every other "torrent speed sux/best ISP for torrents/Rapdshare problems" etc etc etc threads...

There was a post by MWeb somewhere else the thing that decides what is shapped is the amount of traffic going from that site

So say there is 300 gigs a day from rapidshare MWEB's dynamic shapping will start to shape that site so its not something they set its something that is dependednt on the usage to the web site

This is what I understood from what I read

So even though you can use rapidshare for ligit stuff all the other people using it for movie downloads and things like that are spoiling it for you

Then use Hotfile / Megashare and stop complaining.

And whether Rapidshare is "legit" or not has nothing to do with it getting shaped. It's seen as a non priority protocol ,and thus gets shaped to give the rest of us excellent service during the day ;)

Except that the "protocol" is HTTP - hardly non-priority is it?

I have been experiencing throttled Rapidshare sownloads since signing up with Mweb this month. However i can say that it has been flying the last day or so - full speed. And also tried another hosting site which was full speed while RS was been throttled...

Oh and stop bitching and moaning, MWEB is the best by a country mile

I shudder to think what is the worst. Currently getting between 0-1KB/s from RS on MWEB and 200KB/s on Telkom... This turned up to be just another scam.

I'm on a 4MB line and when downloading from Rapidshare during the day I get 20-30KB and after 18:00 it goes up to 60-70KB. All other downloads are full speed. I gave the M-Web help desk a call yesterday and they said they are aware of the problem with Rapidshare and are looking into it, but there was nothing they could do about it at this stage.

I also belong to Afrihost uncapped (currently awaiting cancellation) and as soon as I went over 30GB, the wheels fell off all downloads. So at the moment, I feel that M-Web is still the best bet.

I dont see how it can be a scam when 90% of the power users here are getting what they signed up for , some already well past 300gig. But its a good thing , because maybe everyone thats too daft or lazy to get alternative methods to RS will leave for other ISPs , opening up more bandwith for the rest of us ;)
