Raspberry Pi 2 Model B+ Shutdown / Restart Buttons

Hi guys

I'm a bit new to this, I'll be receiving mine this coming week, want to add buttons to mine to shutdown / reboot my Pi and good advise / tips for adding buttons?

I want to use mine mostly for Media player / Retro Pi because this is basically just a computer probably not good just cutting the power while it's running might cause software / sd card corruption?

I was deciding on getting a Xbox360 Wireless controller to control the device / might get a IR remote too, would it be possible to just do a shutdown command with the controller / remote then only having a power button for starting the Pi from being off?

Okay, but is €4.50 global shipping on a €19.90 device really so bad, specially if you (can) dilute that shipping cost by bringing in two; or more if you can organise a bit of a group buy?

Worth noting, one would probably want to bring the RemotePi Board Plus case with this, itself (all of...) €7.90.
 
What does OSMC do when you enable the sleep timer? I got my dad a RPi2 and I think it just stays on all day.
