Not quite what I want.
It supports RS232, 422 and 485, so it's not too nuts to get you to UART comms. This thing is in no way a competitor to Raspberry Pi though. In what sense is this a competitor to the RaspberryPi? No GPIO, no I2C or SPI bus, no UARTs, no CSI interface.
Apples and Oranges @Bradley Prior
The CAPA13R is x86-64 and can run Windows 10And no open source community .... Not even remotely a competitor.
The Pi 3 has 66 OSses available. This won't match that community at all.The CAPA13R is x86-64 and can run Windows 10
Although not mentioned, it should be able to run Linux.
I use RPI4 with a vLAN capable switch (TL-SG1016DE) to do some routing.finally... more than one ****ing lan port![]()
Sure, but the thing is I want to avoid this and not introduce additional dependanciesI use RPI4 with a vLAN capable switch (TL-SG1016DE) to do some routing.
Tested with Raspbian Buster, Ubuntu 20.04, Arch Linux and OpenWrt - works a charm and fast.
I could also add a USB 3 GbE adapter if I didn't have the switch.

RPI4 vs dumb router - more like this:Sure, but the thing is I want to avoid this and not introduce additional dependancies
