R50 per month for the hosting serviceR50 once off is not so bad, how long would the hosting be ?
And possibly a data cap or being a shaped internet line. And of course power already included. Basically the idea is to have a low cost server hosted on a Raspberry Pi that home users can use for whatever reasonWhat would the hosting include?
I'm curious as to what the possible use cases are here? Benefits versus an digital ocean droplet or other small cloud instance for something like a web server. Or if you want something for PI/ARM development in the cloud, would PI emulator or VM not make sense? And possibly a data cap or being a shaped internet line. And of course power already included. No hypervisor contention is reason enough for me.I'm curious as to what the possible use cases are here? Don't get me wrong, I think hosted Pi is cool and could have lots of possibilities, just curious as to perceived benefits.
ThisDepends on bandwidth, disks (SD, NVME, etc) used and power reliability.
That's right in line with what I've seen previously on this topic (~2.5USD). Little bit above...but this is a pi 4 presumably so can be higherHey, so I am trying to some market research. Let me know what you guys think
Exactly. We've called those basic droplets "Pi in the sky" for years. What would the benefit of this be over digital ocean / linode / ovh
Redundancy included

And a Pi 4 is fairly decent. But the issue is you are then relying on a small SD card to last for as long as one needs it to last. Suppose if its for disposable purposes hosted Pi is a good option.LAAAAAAAATENCY
What type of software do you want to run on a Pi in South Africa where such a low latency is required?LAAAAAAAATENCY
Probably something like a Minecraft server etcWhat type of software do you want to run on a Pi in South Africa where such a low latency is required?
