Hi everyone

I am looking to build a point of sale system with the Raspberry Pi, and need a touch screen. Does anyone know which ones are compatible and the best place to buy in SA?

Thanks in advance

I don't know, but please keep us updated on what you find out

Edit: maybe check the posts in the Raspberry Pi blog. There must be something similar there

I've seen screens for the Pi advertised on EBay. Doubt if they were touch screens. But worth a try!
Had a quick look on EBay:
SainSmart 3.2" TFT LCD + Touch Panel SD Slot for Arduino Mega2560 Raspberry Pi
Probably a bit small for what you want to use, but it's a start!
And here's something a bit bigger:
Diy Monitor for Raspberry Pi-(HDMI+VGA+2AV)Lcd Driver+7" AT070TN92+Touch Screen

A mate built a self-service kiosk using a touchscreen and pi, said he found one 'designed for' use with the pi, though apparently any USB HID device should work for touch.

Suggest Googling 'pi kiosk' as another dude was doing the same at the time - they used a lot of the same parts and documented online.

Sigma721 - I looked at doing this a while ago. If you're in CPT and need a hand then please yell.

I'd be interested in finally actually doing this!
