Ratanga Junction.

Sounds like something out of the Simpsons, especially the part about the guy on the treadmill. :D Something like - Krusty opens an amusement park and it's all the rage in Springfield until his neglected sidekick opens his own park, backed by Mr. Burns with a hidden agenda. It's up to Krusty and the usual suspects of Springfield to bring Krusty's Kastle back to its former glory.

I have to agree. I finally went there for the 1st time last year. What disappointment. It wasn't even full when we were there, but it didn't matter as there are only like three decent rides that are worth going on and that are not broken/being repaired/torn down.

There still isn't a go-kart track of any kind - something you find at most theme parks. The few rides we went on (Cobra, Monkey Falls, that boat that swings from side to side) were hardly worth the steep entrance fee.

The whole place looked pretty derelict and not looked after at all. The food in the few places which were open, was basic and expensive.

At least I have been there now, so I can advise other people not to waste their money, and flat out refuse to go if invited.

Oh shutup Ned... :p

eh?

necro?

Anyway I have been there a few times over the years and was there just the other day and had a great time.

First, Prices. Entrance R120 adult and R60 kid

Entrance should actually be a lot more. There is no way they can keep up a park of that size on such a measly amount.
Even Gold Reef City is R150 weekends/R110 weekdays. And it should be a lot more considering what they have to do with that money.
Gold Reef City is probably also heavily subsidised by the Casino (and Ratanga Junction doesn't have that option).

Theme parks in the USA are in the order of R500 to R1200 a day.

Edit: Ooops! OLD THREAD!

The OP has it right. That place is a dump.

Also it is too late to start asking more now. Unless they first fix it up and upgrade their equipment. Even it its heyday the sheer price kept people away, and once you've been there you are good for at least a year. So the best that they can hope for is that each client visits them once a year.
