Rate my Website v2

It's a good attempt. :)
I'm interested in knowing if the "whole" website was created by you(except for the forum of course)?

Also a small little tip: Don't leave clean email addresses on pages, rather implement a "contact form" somewhere. Bots will crawl your website, and they will spam you.

+1 on the anti-spam. It's a really clean looking site, well done. For a first attempt? I'd say you have an eye for design and would give you 8-9/10. The location page could have an interactive google map with marker. Just create one at maps.google.com. Sign in and save to 'my maps', add marker/s. You can also create a google earth .kmz and upload it to your site then enter it's url into the google maps search bar... it should show up in the map. Use the 'link to' shortcut at the top right of gmaps to get the full url for that map. Just put that in a div or whatever on the page.

Next addition for me would be a twitter / FB widget for news updates somwhere on the home page, some 'like us' / 'tweet this' shortcuts on every news page. Competition page has missing images at the bottom (at least on my chrome it does). Any reason you didn't go the easy cms approach? You would likely get some really flexible stuff out the box if you used wordpress for example.

One last opinion :)
Your forum text needs to be a shade or two lighter IMO, it's difficult to read on a notebook with the brightness down a little (as so often happens when not connected to power source).

sorry but IMHO it looks cheap , I know its your1st site but honestly rather use a template then using that 4/10 from me.

Not bad for a first attempt.

I would suggest that the Font for your main categories (in the blue buttons) be altered as it makes some of them tricky to read.

Your main page background under the site name conflicts with the font and colouring of your title. This makes reading the subheading near impossible.

I agree with Snort, placing a simpler Google Maps (road view) versus satellite might make it easier to find.

On the Competitions page, your left banner also makes reading the text difficult due to font selection and background "noise" on the bullet holes and "bitz"

Once I'm on the Forum, there is no link back to your main site

In the Gallery Section, your picture is huge, but the frame is the same size. Implement a Thumbnail selection first, which can then open up the pictures in a new tab / window if the person wishes to see the full size image.

I would give it a 7/10 - It works, works well, and not bad for a first attempt!

Fix up the niggles (if you wish) and I think it could turn out to be a nice site :)

Maybe also have a look at making the site compatible with widescreen monitors, that way we aren't stuck with a small strip down the middle site :)

Viewing this at 1080p I can tell the background crysis image is from another site because its displays a little "off center" for me, and I can see the black mid section from the original site as well as how it's subdivided for that sites div's/content. Maybe edit the image and get rid of that or black it out. Also set the css of the background image to center, so with the window is re-sized it doesn't cause that mid section to become visible.

Change the site button on header, and get a better logo.

Else looking nifty. 7/10

just out of interest is the background image supposed to serve as a background image only? i notice there is a layout demarkated within the picture which couldve been used.

the blue buttons dont agree with the rest of the theme of your website 6/10 good effort though, youre certainly better than me.

with gaming/clan websites there are tonnes of gaming themes n stuff.

Hrmm where to start. Taking into consideration the previous version both design and development wise this is a improvement.

To give you a rating, I feel would only disappoint you. It's not a bad start but its not professional. Gaming sites can be extremely difficult too which is why I think you running into a few problems.

Gaming sites enjoy using loads of graphics that sometimes look over done. You banner for example is a nice attempt and I can see the creativity you put into the site but the quality needs work. The text in some areas of the banner is very hard to read.

Your background image is simply to big. For screens using a resolution lower then 1400x900 it is to big and is unclear what the background is. Also the background was not created by you so please don't use it on your web site.

Those navigation buttons don't fit in. Overall it's a fair attempt for some starting out.

My I suggest checking out some of my friends designs.

+1 for menu buttons not fitting the rest of the theme. The Unreal font isn't practical for use in anything other than, well, the Unreal logo.

I just clicked the link and thought "the font sux". In the buttons (looks like a powerpoint/word special). I'd look at it further but the whiskey in my system says "move on".

Its not bad. And most of the advice here i would follow

Aesthetically is needs alot of work thou. Header for gaming? talk about a fun canvas, Designers DREAM of a project where you can let loose like this.
But ye two bullet holes and a black and white gradient isnt working for me.
http://www.voodoocontrollers.com/ have a look at that for inspiration. I can see something like that working.
And look at how the headers have call to actions. You could outline some of the LANS points in the header with calls to action.

So start googlinPS tutrials and find something moar leet for the header and better style for the buttons. Like grungy destroyed buttons or google gaming signatures photoshop
tutorials - for header ideas.

But congradulations on putting this togther urself, it is a great 1st step

And whatever you do, do NOT use proper grammar or punctuation. The internet is a tough neighborhood, it should be tough to understand as well!

(btw, it's a pretty decent first attempt. Try playing with the buttons a bit more)

Does the background image really need to be that big? 1900x1500

Other thoughts
- I like the overall design with the background and +1 on the cool banner :p
- The buttons need a lot of work. Colour, font and uniformity as some are bold, some look like different font sizes etc.
- location of the buttons, like I would normally think the "Contact Us" button would be on the far right side (my opinion)
- Naming of the pages, if you click live chat the page is named "downloads", same with competitions, the page is called matches
- The lan song ... Not really a problem since I dig the song but I'm more surprised Youtube hasn't taken the video down due to copyright infringement :p

OTHERWISE good effort for a 1st attempt :)
