So I like doing these types of threads...usually ends up being very insightful and puts things in your life into perspective.
Basically, what would you rate your family on a scale of 1 to 10? 10 being pretty much the best family you could've asked for, they help you out when you need it, they're supportive, fun, always around, never backstab blood and basically are at the core of your life. On the other end you have 1, these families are no good, they fight all the time, never have a good word for each other, never make time for each other, basically all the things that should NOT be associated with the word "family".
I'm up first. Myself personally, I come from a pretty small family, father's side is non-existent to me since my parents are divorced and I'm also an only child. Quite a few uncles and aunts but they're all pretty much for themselves and we never really do 'family' type things together. I have one uncle that (maybe 2) that I know I can depend on for anything so they fill the role of father figure. My family fights a lot though, mainly because of the grandparents that are always at it. We hardly have family get togethers and basically only see each other for a small while on weekends. I wish I had a big loving family that I see other people have but I guess you can't always get what you want.
I'd rate my family a 5, not total writeoffs but definitely far from the perfect family.
