The camera is a bit weak. There is no flash so you have to be in bright daylight to see anything. If you want to take a quick picture to use on your blog or to mail someone it is okay but don't expect it to rival the other phones on the market. It is a 2 mp camera.

The music player is also a bit weak. The sound quality is not as good as some of the Nokia phones that my friends have. It is okay for a podcast or two but I use my PSP as my primary MP3 player.

Battery life is pathetic when 3G is turned on. Barely a day and a half. That might also be thanks to MTN not having good 3G coverage. I turn off 3G and use EDGE all the time. Gives me 4 days of battery life. That is about 75 SMSs and half an hour of talk time.

The reception is so so. Not pathetic but not as good as my old Nokia 6680. I have been able to phone and use the Internet fine so it is okay.

I like the fact that you can turn the phone on its side and the video player will switch to widescreen mode and flip the picture on its side. It is very light and the flip function is smooth and satisfying. The screen is nice and big. The e-mail functionality is cool and I use it every day. The user interface is nice and snappy.

On the whole I am happy with my phone and consider it a good purchase...

It is small with a big screen.
It is light and easy to carry and use.
It broke after six weeks.

The experience with Hatfield Vodacare spoiled the whole exercise.

Buy one of the nice Nokias.

I got this phone two days ago, and it's been great. The keypad isn't my favourite, but demo one in a shop to see if the keys suit you.

I don't like the Vodafone live stuff.. Like the right soft key is dedicated to Vodafone live. And all the crappy demo games and undeletable pics etc.

Is there a SAFE, FREE way of flashing it to standard firmware, that has NO CHANCE of buggering up the phone? I'd like to remove the Vlive stuff, but if there's any risk of "broken-phone" I don't want to.

Also, on a side note, is there any difference between using Vlive or Vodacom as the internet account?

Vodafine Live is the reason I went to MTN when I ported from Cell C...

Sony Ericsson is good phones, coming from Motorola (E398 best phone Ive ever had, and SLVR L7 complete let down after the first one) I now have a K810i and cant complain would still prefer a Motorola if only they made a decent phone for a change. Only do bar phones :P

I basically had to choose between the K810i and the W910i and I went with the K810i because it has a much better camera and it can play music anyways... The walkman branded phones are a waste in my opinion.

I'm not very impressed with the Walkman features of the W910i, but I have really been enjoying it nonetheless... I was gonna get the K850i, but just from the test model the buttons didn't seem very nice. Plus the W910 has a bigger screen and is thinner. But the camera on the K850 is very good. Tries it out in the store and was quite impressed. The lady at the store said they'd had a few returns because of software problems, so that swayed my decision to go for the W910.

Btw, if anyone is that the Vodacom shop in Walmer Park, PE, look at the K850 on display. I left a message on it "from St Francis". :)

I've had my W910i for about 2 months now. It started rebooting randomly and then just stays on a black screen with the red camera light on at the back and vibrating every 10 seconds or so. I then took it back for a warranty repair, waiting 2 weeks, fetched it and after a few days the exact same problem came returned.

I did some googling and found hundreds of SE W910i users complaining about exactly the same problem. SE even admitted that it was a firmware problem and they recalled the model.

What i don't understand is these complaints are from November 2007. Why in the world are no SE dealer aware of this and still selling them? I've spoken to the MTN corporate dept and they advise me to send the phone back for another repair. They cannot offer me a different handset, so in other words I'm going to have to keep sending it back for repairs every odd month. This is just pathetic.

Please can anyone give me some advice on what route I can take to get this sorted out. Is there any of you that have been experiencing the same problem and if so can you tell me what you have done to fix your problem. I do not want to take it back for repairs, wait for 2 weeks and then sit with the same story again.

How it rates? - i absolutely love the phone.
-camera - not good for taking pics in bad light
-music player - works ok for me when i want to listen to music
-battery life - lasts about 4-5 days(i hardly phone ppl usually sms)
-reception - havent had any probs here (Vodacom)-any other note worthy things - i like the video editor, you can make some really cool movies with the pics youve taken etc. +1 the USB stick i got with the phone for the mem card works just great!
Thanx

my phone started doing this after i had it for 2 months. On the disc that came with the phone there is a program called SE update service. Install it on your pc and update your phones software through that program. My phone has been fine for about 2 months now.

just remember to back up everything you want to keep because it deletes everything on the phone.
