Modern car batteries are pricey. From a dealership you're looking at R1300, but I'd say you could do better at your local Battery Centre etc. Give them a call.

I was quoted well over R2000 by the dealership for mine last time I bought a battery.

That means nothing, it could be one of a few models.

What is the number on the battery? 652C, 646PD, 652AGM etc etc etc

2011 S40 T5. Mine died and Volvo quoted me R2500 excluding labour! Replaced under maintenance plan

or Tuesday, Mondays can be very busy. Alternatively try Battery Center and get an EFB battery as they are supposedly better tech.
