As a heads-up for anyone considering razer keyboards and mouses.

They require Synapse 2.0 to install the required drivers to use the custom keys.

The Synapse 2.0 software forces you to be on the internet, also, it forces you to create an account with razer that will data mine your computer.

Thats right, you MUST agree to use a registered razor account to get the drivers for your device.

This came as a shocker when I looked for drivers inside my Razer BlackWidow Mechanical KB, found none and noticed I had to install this **** software on my computer.

They give you absolutely no choice in this, even worse, the legacy driver doesn't work on the keyboard anymore because the software changes the firmware on the keyboard

Stay away, you'll be much more happy with other products that don't force absurd TOS agreements on you.

I'll be giving back this keyboard to BT games, as there was no warning that INTERNET is a requirement for a fking keyboard

PS. Razer's excuses are just lies and unethical.

Well, you may go an switch it to offline mode, but I see absolutely no benefit to using this software above the legacy.

It was quite bad when I went to the farm.....yeah you guessed it, no internet...

Even worse (as I mentioned) the legacy driver is now blocked off from my keyboard.

Razer keyboards are CRAP anyway. Ive tried two different models, both ended up being returned and refunded. Then I googled them and saw so many complaints. So yeah stay away rather

And their ridiculous Xbox Controllers. Me and a friend bought two of them (and they were bloody expensive).
The piece of crap didn't even last one game, my buddy's had the same issue and I've seen thousands of people's angry posts onine about it.

Its been like this for ages. Synapse 2.0 is sad and I hate working with it. If you don't like it, ditch it and find something better with a brand that doesn't require the same connectivity.

Razer products have one of the highest RMA rates in the industry. Logitech on the other hand one of the lowest.

Hmmm... this is odd. I have a Razer keyboard and mouse, and I got the drivers without registering and they work fine without always online (I block EVERYTHING from going online). My hardware is a bit older (Deathadder and Lycosa), but I don't have any of the issues you're complaining about. Maybe just my luck.

That's been the case since Synapse 2.0.... the previous Synapse didn't have that requirement.

I've have a Razor Lachesis I got a few years ago for gaming and it has some strange bugs where one of the axis stops tracking. Use it on my media center now. Won't get this brand again.
