Does any1 have this controller & is using it for PC?

Most PC games these days require an xbox controller. There are emulators which could be used but configuring it could be a nightmare & impossible if your controller does not have as many buttons as the xbox controller.

Has this controller become a gaming necessity?

Below are the specs for the 3 controllers for PC/xbox and the approx prices.

Not being familiar with the Razer controller, I'm not going to comment on them other than to say I love their mice so I imagine the gamepad should be good. That said, you can pick up an original Xbox 360 controller with wireless dongle for windows for around that price, and there's nothing wrong at all with the Microsoft original at all, it's a very natural fit in your hand, sturdily made & seems plenty responsive enough. You can have an issue tracking them down, but if you have a Matrix Warehouse in CT, or can have them deliver to you, I saw they had stock at their Springfield branch in Durban the other day.

The extra programmable buttons on the Razers' sound interesting though, especially for PC gaming.....

Sorry, here's a link to Matrix Warehouse I meant to include in my reply :

I'm not seeing the controller on the website, but if you call their Springfield branch they should be able to help you.

try wootware.co.za...i wanted to buy a wireless XBOX controller from them but it was for PC...wanted the original XBOX version. though this version on their site was also microsoft, it looked like it was mainly for PC.

also, check out the previous page on this link, they also got the RAZER controllers for a very good price. i think they are based in Somerset West, but im not sure.

Wow. A wired controller? And it's more expensive than the original wireless controller? I am not sure who that's going to fly with. A 5m cable is just going to coil up all the time. Too long for the PC, and pointless for the XBox. Don't get me wrong, I like the features of the controller and I have two Razer products already, but this cable is a dealbreaker.

1. most new 360 controllers work in a pc via the play and charge cable, 2nd is s normal xbox controller not fine ?? i suppose the prices are competitive but a controller is a controller its not going to make u reload faster :)

I must agree you'd expect a new Xbox controller to be wireless.

This is the Microsoft Xbox wireless controller for PC & Xbox which retails between R450-R550, pretty much the same price as the Razor - uncertain about the specs, but can't be much different.
