RCA to HDMI

Hey there.

I have kind of a weird request and I'm no really sure if it can be done.
I have a Sony Playstation 2 but no TV so I was wondering if there is a cable out there that I can plug the RCA cables into and that goes to HDMI so I can plug it into my monitor.

I do know of an XBOX360 cable that does this but I'm unsure if it'll work with the PS2. Anyone do something similar?

I could be wrong, but isn't RCA analog and HDMI digital? If so I don't think it can be done as it's a different kind of signal.

I just got an adapter for my monitor - RCA to VGA which works perfectly. I got it from ZAKSpeed.

There are RCA to HDMI which does the conversion but that is at a price of R700+

RCA is analog, HDMI is digital, so you'd need something like this:

I have seen some around, older ones but they have strange resolutions on the output.

Try get a RCA to VGA, as VGA is also analog so would be easier (cheaper) conversion.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll look into getting a RCA to VGA converter as it's probably cheaper than the HDMI version.

I just bought one of these today for a customer, just waiting on delivery, and will try to remember to post here on whether it worked or not - Exact same application and converter.
