I bought a second one of these units, problem is that the fan runs 100% of the time and its loud and hot. Do you guys think I should exchange it?

I think it might be faulty.

The fan on my unit only comes on when the power goes off.

Maybe you got crap batteries & its discharging fast and the UPS is trying to charge it all the time. Maybe the UPS is crap.
Could be a lot of things.

Good question, maybe he can check the life of the batteries via the software monitoring tool.

Anyone else having issues with the Viewpower software, mine keeps connecting/disconnecting. I tried different pc's and different usb cables. It seems to work for a day or 2 till the first power outage then the issue starts.

Anyone can tell me where in the software so you turn the beeping sound off.

I just cannot find it

Mine is quiet, also the fan only runs when the power is off.

As for the software connecting/disconnecting all the time (USB) .. yes mine does that.. Bloody annoying, so I disconnected it and will only use the software when required.

Just timed mine for the first time. Lasted only 1hour. 32" lcd, modem and Amazon fire TV

Hi Guys, i'm interested in purchasing one of these ups's to keep my cameras, adsl router, etc on while i power up my generator, will the ups switch back to mains when the gennie is running?

Has anyone connected this UPS to a generator as yet?

/scratches head.

Those big batteries need to be permanently connected to the charger forever....to get them charged and kept charged.
Remember, you, purchased a 3 stage charger. No disconnecting the charger from the battery when the green light shines......

That is why I said on another thread here somewhere I disconnected my internal UPS charger so that the proper (outside) one could take take over and do it's job. Permanently connected to the battery(s).

Without interference from the internal UPS charger.

No plug this out and plug that in or connect that :(

I think I am quietly going to get sozzled tonight. Blackout here too, beers are cold and lappie is fine and I warmed the take away up at 7 58PM and UPS and modem and battery are all OK.

Maybe I just cannot communicate effectively with Technical stuff on Forums. If you were sitting next to me while explaining this you would understand all quickly

Anyway outta here for now. Tired of keyboards and typing.

Hey man, this is an old thread when I first bought the rct2000va with the 2x 9ah batteries. I just wanted to see how long they lasted. Since you raising a good question that I never thought, would you mind telling me how to disconnect the rct2000va 10amp charges and how to hook put the 3 stage charger. I disconnect the charger when I need to use the batteries with the ups when we have loadshedding.

Any advice will be appreciated man.
