RCT 850va UPS - replacement battery (Lithium)

My son in law bought a replacement Lithium battery for his RCT 850va UPS thinking it was going to be an easy swap... turns out it's a bit more complicated.
The UPS now refuses to power on when there's no mains. It just dies. He has to disconnect the battery terminals to bring it back.
Does anyone know these UPS' and know what batteries might work with it? Or does it need tweaking to use Lithium?

Probably the load is too high and the BMS is cutting out and then you have to reset the battery by unplugging it.

What are you trying to run?

So does it not keep providing power when loadshedding starts? Or is he trying to switch it on while there is no electricity?

Monitor, router, ONT and laptop.

AS OP said - the load is too high - BMS is cutting out - they designed for alarms and gate motors - not really UPS's - Monitor 30W - router 4w ONT 5w laptop 60W - round up to 100W 100/13 - 7amps - its too much.

Try reducing the load, just leave router and ONT on and see if the UPS stays on?

I tried the same - UPS load was too great - ended up putting it in the alarm - works great.
