Rct ups alarm

Hey all.

I have an issue with a RCT 2000vas UPS that i bought 2 days ago.

The unit beeps when i turn it on so the speaker is working, but if the battery kicks in it doesnt beep to alert me that the power has gone off, my last RCT2000vas ups did this. I see the model has changed though so i am wondering if this normal, that maybe they have set it not to be on by default, and that i would have to use the software to enable it? Which i do not really want to install.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah I was just kidding
I put a big fat blob of prestik over my piezo tweeter. It's very faint but at least I know if there is a warning with faulty batteries etc.

Why dont you just create a Windows Restore point, install the app, do the changes and then roll back ?

Would like to avoid it if i can. I don't suppose any one knows if there is a way to reset the ups by maybe holding the power button in or something like that?
