Rdio shutdown date announced

The question is, should I move to Deezer or Google Music.
Simfy sucks.

Depends what music you listen to. Initially I was blown away by Play Music, but it wasn't long before I discovered that much of the music that isn't pop, rock, hip hop, electronic etc. bass heavy modern stuff has been equalised to crap. I've found a number of albums already that I can't listen to on my headphones because of overpowering instruments, and those same albums sound fine on Simfy.

Not sure if there's a setting for it, but I haven't found it. Another problem with Play Music is that it won't let me create playlists in Firefox, which is extremely annoying. I also haven't found an option for offline playlists anywhere but on mobile.

Being able to seamlessly merge your individual Play Music purchases and music uploads with the streaming library is great though.

I have Simfy paid up until late 2017 thanks to a promotion I took advantage of 2 years ago. Didn't cost much. If I was paying R60pm I'd go with Deezer. If you're on Afrihost you can get free Simfy with their Afrihost Plus option.

I moved from Simfy to Apple Music and am quite happy.

The Apple Music Android app sucks though. Buggy, crashes and could do with a lot more improvements. Simfy's Android app was much better. If you're using a desktop, Apple Music uses iTunes which works great.

iTunes is the reason I would never consider using Apple Music. iTunes is the best example I've ever come across of exactly how not to design an application.

I hate iTunes as well, but it works well with Apple Music.

I don't have a problem with ITunes. I can find whatever I need without any problem. But I don't like Apple Music. Or any of the streaming services for that matter. I agree with Neil Young and many other musicians that they compromise on the quality. There is definitely a difference between the streamed version of a song to the purchased version I downloaded.

Streaming services stream their music at 256-320kbps.

So you must have your entire library as lossless?

You must have some epic studio equipment to hear the difference. It's music. Unless you're listening to high dynamic range music such as classical, you'd be hard pressed to hear any difference in quality.

I changed from Rdio to Google Play Music the day it launched in SA. I stream my music while driving and when working and I have been loving it!

I haven't tried Deezer, but I have been enjoying Google Play Music a lot more than I did Rdio. I also considered Apple music, but the Android app is horrible and I'm not a fan of iTunes.
