My TopTv Decoder started to re-boot every couple of seconds or sometimes even minutes at irregular intervals. It is well ventilated and together with other gear such as a DSTV decoder on a UPS. The UPS is not overloaded and provide stable current all the time. The problem has prompted me to disconnect the decoder, its out of warrantee, so I will have to buy a new one according to their call centre.

I have performed every suggested reset procedure with no improvement.

Any ideas?

disconnect the dish from it (unscrew the cable) and see if it still reboots. might be something with the LNB maybe? ours dont reboot ever so no idea otherwise.

I have done that as part of a reset procedure - it did not help. Thanks for your input. It rebooted whether it was connected to the dish or not . When it connects (for that short while between reboots), the picture is always perfect.

Connect it direct to the power instead of through the UPS and check again. I found that when my UPS was on the frits, even though other devices were fine, some weren't.

I will try that tonight, I hope that works, although its been running fine for a year now with the other co-inhabitants on the UPS and the program monitoring the UPS indicates no problems.

Its so sad since I like my TOPTV big time.
