Re-partitioning without Formatting

By the way, to get more space on system partition, clean up the disk. For disk, r-click > Properties > Disk Cleanup. Make sure to also Clean up system files. Can usually free up quite a few gigs.

Thanks for the responses, I will try this, but I think I should back up all my data first just in case!
I have in the meantime disabled hibernation to give me 1.5GB extra working s

This is getting unnecessarily confusing. Just get a couple of nice big new 2 Tb drives and be done with it. And slap windows on an SSD.
How much does a 128GB SSD cost nowdays?

I wander if SSD's will become more popular due to the floods causing havoc with HDD production.

@shovenose
Btw why are you using a partition for Linux. A Vm will do fine for it
The idea of me using linux is to enjoy a non-microsoft product on its own. It seems to run a lot better than on VM, and in cases like now when my windows is going horribly slow, I can boot into ubuntu and it feels like I have a new PC. Also, when Windows wont launch, I can still use Ubuntu, and then sort out problems in Windows. I use Linux about 30% of the time now, this would be much higher if there was a decent Office Alternative. There are so many formatting issues with LibreOffice and it feels like using Office 2000.

If you want more space right click on recycle bin set the slider to 3 percent and disable recycle bin on the other partitions. Do the same with system restore set it to 3 percent. 12 percent is way to much.
